Kids are so expensive these days

I have a vivid memory of my parents saying this when we were younger. They always added the phrase, "and that doesn't even include the cost of ketchup." Other adults would laugh, but I never understood that....until now. Callie was eating her french fries, when all of a sudden she holds her fry out and says, "Dip, dip." I thought this would be quite cute, so I put some ketchup on her tray. Impressively, Callie was able to eat an entire mound of ketchup and just one french fry. I think I'm beginning to understand what my parents meant!

"D"

This picture is the result of Dave and I trying to get a cute picture to use for our Christmas cards. Callie was getting very tired of the flash in her eyes and we still hadn't gotten the right picture. Dave asked Callie, "Do you want to go D?" (At our sitter's house - D means downstairs.) This is Callie's typical reaction to traveling down the stairs at our house. I think that for vacation next year, we'll just go downstairs.

Say Cheese

Tonight, Callie found my old camera. She immediately put the camera up to her mouth and said, "Cheese." We have apparently taken enough photos of her that she knows the drill. We are at the "monkey see, monkey do" stage. I warned Dave that we both need to watch what we do.
